Back in Full Swing!

Ethan seems to be back in full swing.  Although I must credit that little bulb syringe thing-y (aka "nose getter-outer") -- not pleasant to place that foreign object in his nostrils but I think it helped and hoping we have that first cold behind us.  With that good news, we have been back to our regular program this week:  A mother's support group called Listening Mother's was Monday, then PEPS is Tuesday, tried a new class for parent/infant on Wednesday at the Seattle Central Community College, and then Thursdays are yoga at Eight Limbs led by Anne Phyfe (mom and babies attend!).  The Monday and Tuesday meetings will come to a close shortly and that will help to free up some time but the days quickly fill up with our near daily visit to the coffee shop, a stroll through the neighborhood while weather is on our side, and then cleaning bottles, laundry, and bottoms! Our two big highlights this week include Ethan's move from bassinette to crib.  In a ten week old's view of the world, I cannot help but wonder if this feels like moving cross country or the farm to the city!  Could be a big adjustment but he has been doing great for the three days he has slept in it.  A very special thanks to friend Sarah for helping me to 'construct' his IKEA crib!  No easy task!  (Note: the red stars in photo--he just goes ga ga over them; also bumpers are there just for the photo and then removed from crib when he is sleeping).

And another fine moment for us this week was the PEPS girls night out---this was all the moms from our Tuesday discussion group going out this evening without carriers and slings in tow! We went to Guest Chef Night at Farestart Cafe (non-profit).  So, who watched over the kiddos? Ethan was so lucky to have our former houseboat neighbors, Rick and Nancy, watch him at their place on the dock this evening.  I dropped him off with them at 6 pm and got back to their place a little after 9 pm only to find Ethan all comfy and sound asleep across Rick's shoulder! 

Nancy reported there was some fussiness early in the evening but overall, I think it was a good night for all.
